HobbyBoss CH-46D Seaknight, it's a very nice kit, very minor fitting problems, almost perfect just a little sanding needed for this one. Task Force 141 theme, I use Gunze 308 on the fuselage, decals are mostly self-printed with Laser printer and ALPS printer.

After I unpack it and start working on it, this is some progress:

After painted the seats with Gaia Olive Green and the floor with Gunze 317, I use Tamiya Black panel line accent to make some weathering on them.

Masking is painful.

View attachment 123276

But first let me tint it with Gaia 043 Clear Black.

Decals application, partially done.

I use plastic strings made by sprues to reinforce the structure since it's very very easy to break.

Broke twice since last night, really frustrated with this.

That's all for now until the decal is ready.

TF-141, One-Four-One.

Those windows are still masked, still have some paint work to do so they better stay where they are.

I've done some weathering and washes with Enamel paint, panel line accent and oil paint (very minor).

And this is the decals in Adobe Illustrator, sending for printing already and should be ready within 3-5 days time!

Another stunner in the making me thinks unusual choice of chopper most people including me would go for either the sea stallion mh53 I think it's called or the chinook but you have made a great choice with the often overlooked sea night the main runabout for the marine core if I'm not mistaken nice one look forward to your next build

TF141 CH-46D Seaknight, Done.

Gunze 308 for fuselage and Gaia Pure Black for propellers & black areas on the fuselage. I use both Hobbyboss stock decals and self-printed decals.

Smoke stain by using soft pastel after semi-flat top coat.

The instruction sheet stated that this helicopter color should be in 339 Engine Grey so they provided the water decals which mostly in white color. White decal on Gunze308 basically you see nothing on it. So i came out with my own design and print it.

The theme is based on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 I personally love TF141 so much, so I make this Seaknight into a TF141's Seaknight.

Weathering, washing & filtering done with Tamiya enamel paint and oil paint, I use dark brown and black soft pastels to create the smoke stain effect on the tail.

For diorama, actually the plan is make CH-46D and Mil Mi-28 together in a scene which the Mi-28 is also TF141 themed but due to the size problem, so I may need to plan again.

Soft pastel. Smoke stain. I use Dark Brown soft pastel as 1st layer and then covered with some Black soft pastel to create smoke stain effect.

Thanks for viewing, have a great day everyone!

Cheers!

That's looking pretty amazing. Where do you get your decals made?

Hello John, I design it myself and print it with Laser printer. Printed on Laser Decal paper.

For your info, there're TWO TYPE of decal papers out there If I am not mistaken, Laser and Inkjet, please choose according to the printer you use.

For me, I prefer Laser printer, much easier and cheap.
