ive seen on some models were the builders have added the exhaust wash or smear on the aircraft, im hoping someone could enlighten me on how thats done. im currently working on a 1/72 and 1/48 ch-46 that my brother has flown. i would love to get it as accurately detailed as possible. what materials are needed and the technique used to accomplish that feat.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
