I had to hold back a tear or two on this one. Let alone the sense of awe at how much damage a b17 can take and still fly.

What a great story,

Franz certainly deserves his place up there with the Angels, He was obviously a true aviator like the stricken fellows that he rescued.

Nice to see that they had the chance to meet up too, I can only imagine the best friendship in the world between these guys when they met.

Franz was definitely the Hero on this occasion, He should certainly have been decorated for Very Honourable and Noble conduct.
