I have used Humbrol acrylics on a plane and am wanting to get a nice matt finish on it. What is the best thing to use ? Do Humbrol make a matt varnish for acrylic ? My stockist does not seem to have anything like that.

Humbrol do a rattle can Matt Varnish It is usually described by'Varnish Matt 49'. I have a can but have not tried it. I have used their Satin Finish which is number 135 with great success so I am hoping the Matt will be as good.

One point of caution, Humbrol do these varnishes for Enamel paint also, be careful not to mix them. The numbers I have quoted above are for acrylic paint.

Good luck, look forward to seeing some photo's shortly. Derek

Hi.

Humbrol do a Matt Cote Varnish in a 28ml glass bottle, but it is for spraying, from a spray gun and you need to thin it with the Humbrol thinners for spraying.

Hope its of use.

Regards
