discussion Acryllic over Enamel

Hi

Could anyone advise me if I can paint Lifecolor weathering acryllics over Revell enamels? I know that enamels and acryllics are supposed to react badly and cause a orange peel effect but I thought that if the enamel is dry can they be used? Also do I need a clear coat to apply decals? Thanks in advance.

Acrylic over enamel is fine, make sure the enamel coat is fully cured.

You don't need a clear coat for decalling but if decalling to a matte surfarce you greatly increase the risk of silvering under the decals making them look bad.

A clear gloss, decal, weather then a clear satin or matte will get around this
