I would be interested to hear what people use for RLM02. I am using Vallejo Model Air 71.044, but I am wondering if it is too brown/green rather than grey.

I am using it for a Bf109 E-1 of 9/JG26 august 1940, the Eduard instructions call for a top surface splinter pattern RLM02/RLM71, with the underside RLM65 going high up the sides.

The main colour in this cockpit is the RLM02 I am currently using.View attachment 94972

It looks fine to me. Here's an example of the WEM Colourcoat I use, which is a good match to the various colour chips I have.

I can't see much difference between it and your Vallejo colour.

Cheers

Thanks to both of you. I wax having a little panic when I realized the picture looked much greyer. Nicely reassured now.

I have used the same Vallejo and am happy with the colour.

Remember though paint weathers and changes colour so there can be no exact match. Every company has its own interpretation of a colour, many based on colour chips, no-one is right or wrong. At the end of the day if it looks right it is right.

Thanks to all. I agree if it looks right it is right. I think my problem was poor colour in the picture which had the RLM02 as a very light grey.

Looks great mate. I use the Gunze sangyo paint range as their colour accuracy is really good- but so is vallejo, but I highly recommend GSI's paint range of the acqueous. Their RLM shades are really spot on. I have been recently using them on my Bf110D build and it has been really great so far.

Cheers, JOhn
