Having arrived back in the UK yesterday and getting a little sleep (after getting home at 5am) I did a little bit on the Tiger. I started by painting in the missing patches of Zimmerit with the primer colour, then went over it with a very thin wash of deck tan. The idea is to give the impression of concrete that has broken or chipped off and left a little residue behind.
I'm not sure this has actually worked, will see once the dirt weathering goes on over the top.
After this I did some sponge chipping and added some scratches with a brush. I may go over the inside of some of the scratches with some silver in places, haven't decided yet.

Looking good I think the red patches where the zimm has gone looks ok and should weather nicely.

We will see how it goes, this whole build is an experiment anyway so not too fussed if it goes wrong.

With that in mind, this weekend I have mostly been weathering.
I started with a thin raw umber oil wash on the Zim. I didn't want it to look too dark, but still show some detail. After that I pin washed the rest of the detail with a dark brown enamel.
Once dried I gloss coated again then applied some mild rust and dirt streaking and some silver dry brushing. I think I'm going to leave it at that, other than adding some dust with pigments when the tools and cables are installed, which I hope to do tonight.
Edited to add: I also still have to do some rusting on the exhausts.

I pushed on well tonight. Got the spare tracks, tools, cables and PE tie downs (including some bloody small wing nuts) installed. Also finished weathering the tracks.

Hi guys,
Finally got this one finished last night. Had a nightmare with the rubber tracks as they wouldn't stay glued together, the CA kept breaking when I tried to flex them over the wheels. I ended up re gluing them then sewing them together with cotton thread which seemed to do the trick.
Last things done were to add some mud pigment to the wheels and install the last couple of PE parts (MG42 sight and the weird umbrella aerial thing).
With that, its done. Pics here:
