I got some junk mail through the door the other day from The Entertainer (toy shop) which has the Airfix 72nd scale Victoria Cross set for £14.99, which is half price. It has the Hurricane, Fairey Battle, Hampden and Bristol Blenheim with paints, glue and brushes. Four kits for £15 doesnt sound too bad at all. Its just a shame they are always advertised as toys. I'll be visiting early next week!

Hi Keith you're lucky, my entertainer store in ipswich has only about 3 model kits in, they haven't had the victoria cross set!!!! A few years ago they had a big model section, including a big display of built models!!!

Cheers, Andrew

I had the misfortune to work for The Entertainer a few years back, its part of their ethos not to promote war been a highly religious founder at the top, so a little suprised they have those in. I know they wouldnt touch Harry Potter with it been about magic and the would not sell any toy guns or packs or soldiers when I was there.

Good point Andrew. They have it in the brochure but whats in the shop might be a different matter.

They certainly have guns etc in there now Ade, at least in the Solihull branch. Perhaps they changed their policy or leader. The model section is a bit scant though.

Same in Ipswich branch, they have guns and army sets in there. You used to be able to class the entertainer in Ipswich as a model shop, rather than toyshop. Like I said they used to have a huge range of models, but also loadsa hornby, and scalextric. Now only a few models, no hornby and only a couple of scalextric sets. I guess its all about sales figures and product demand in the area.

Cheers, Andrew
