I bet there are thousands of little memorials like this scattered all over Europe. Nice find Dave. The mist makes it seem even more poignant.
We do a lot of walking and certainly in Belgium you find a lot of these small memorials dotted around in the countryside, often to members of the resistance or civilians who were shot during the war, but also to aircrew from crashes.
