Hi all, I'd like to share my building of Auster 1 with you and perhaps get much needed advices. This is my first build what I ever done and it is quite adventurouse as I often dont know what to do or what material and hardware to use :lame:.

I took some pictures and will write more next time.

Dashboard which I made on second attemt combined from 4 layers of plastic and printed instruments. It is not a real copy of existing dash, just artists licence :)

Here dash sits inside the cockpit

Here we have some more photos of all airframe showing current state.Today I discovered there is such an instance as a carbon fire pushrod and I am going to try to install it in. I use Hitec HS 422 deluxe standard servos and hoping they will be up to the job!

Thank you for looking.
Looks great. I have a DB Spitfire that I need to finish one of these days

Hi Jomo, I do not look in often, keep enjoying. Your choice of servo's will be OK. Perhaps someone else will give advice on covering material, I think tissue is not best suited for the size of model.

Hello Jozo. I am also currently building a "Boddo" AusterJ1. Best advice that I can offer is to try and find a prototype aircraft, get as many photo's as you can and follow as closely as possible. I have made friends with the owner of a very attractive J1 who has even offered my some prototype paint for my model. With regard to covering, tissue is not a good material. A popular medium for a model of this size and type is "Solartex", which is strong with a fabric type appearence.

Best of luck.

Dickie
