Very very touching. I read of a case where a new retired horse joined the others in a field. Immediately, one of the resident horses rushed up to the newcomer and rubbed noses ec. etc, clearly giving the impression of remembering a previous friendship. On enquiry, it was discovered that both had been living together until several years before. There is much more about animals than we think. In another case, a tiger was kept by a person in the far east and nursed back to health and then set it free. A year or so later the tiger came back with two cubs and stayed around with the person for a time before returning to the jungle.
