discussion big tips needed for small pieces

hi all

when brush painting small pieces (some still on sprues) as i handle them to attach to the models the paint comes off just by touching, would it be feasable to brush varnish and if so can anyone recommend any, or would klear do ?

I think you would solve this problem by washing the kit first in warm soapy water to clean any release agents that could be on the plastic then giving the kit a primer coat , many are availible if you don`t have an airbrush I recommend Halfords primer as it comes in a rattle can I swear by the stuff its all I use and it comes in grey white and dark red
