DAS or FIMO AIR? or any other air drying clay...................

I normally use DAS for my seascapes, but I've become aware of FIMO AIR, by Staedtler, which seems to be the same thing, but cheaper!
Anyone have any experience of this or any other air drying modelling clay - I've seen some that are much cheaper, but I'm hesitant to buy 1kg of stuff that may be useless! I see that some are microwave 'fired' - sounded great, until I realised that a ship base wouldn't fit in my microwave!
