After the FW190 build for the Group Build, I decided that I would give aircraft a break and get on with some armour/vehicles as a change. Also, as I had started my Japanese WWII Aircraft carrier, I though it would be a great opportunity to get on with that to, there is lots to do on that one I can tell you.

Also, I have not been totally idle since 'Green 3' was put to bed. I have been building my smallest, trickiest and possibly mind damaging kit to date. A kit I picked up at Hinckley, Dave didn't try to talk me out of it which I think he should have done but there ya go.....

Anyway, pictures to come soon but I have nearly finished a 1:35 MiniArts Harley Davidson WWII American Military Police bike. It has a lot of photo etch that you have to use, no plastic alternatives but is a simply fine well detailed model. Trouble is, it is too fine, delicate and small. At only two and a half inches in length yet holding 108 parts! More on that later.

So, deciding to get on with some of my growing stash of armour, I did the most useful thing and visited John's shop (great service John) where he shamelessly flaunted two kits in front of my aircraft weary eyes so that I just had to get them.

First one, fairly straightforward for me other than I have never done a single dark blue paint job before. Stopping it looking like a blue brick may be tricky.

The second is way out for me. never built a helicopter in my life but again, it was just irresistible.

So, the dilemma? Which one first or both at the same time????

I vote for the Seahawk, I looked at that a few times thinking I wouldn't mind doing that, but then again I look at a lot of the kits I have and think that same about them too.

btw posting the Seahawk seemed to cause a few problems, that guy at the post office had a bit on an attitude telling me I had to pay twice as much to send it, and I needed it insured, he wouldn't even give me a receipt for it.

Do I owe you some postage then John? Not your fault if they charge more and no reason why you should lose out. Cannot see why though, how odd

There is still the Italeri looking at you John ;-) Lots of photo etch available for the Italeri to. Wonder if the PE will work on the Revell kit??? Mmmmmmm

No not at all, it went for the correct price after a bit of arguing, I couldn't belive he wouldn't give me a receipt, I think it was just the guy in the post office being a bit of a jobs worth or didn't know what he was talking about, I didn't have any problems sending the Hellcat

They should give you a receipt though, I have never been refused when I used to take mail order stuff for a shop I worked for. How you supposed to run a business without receipts? Jobsworth is right. I would have a word with the manager and explain that this is a business and you need to be treated professionally.

Hey up young Graham! I ain't talkin' nobody who produces work as good as yours out of buildin' summat I want to see!

Besides which, if you wanted somebody to look after you at Hinckley, you shoulda bought your bouncy nurse! Lol

Gern

Edit: Another Homer moment! It's Ron who's got the bouncy nurse. P'raps you might want to see about gettin' one for yourself. Then she could look after you at the next show!

Ooooh, pics of the Harley Davidson please :)

I've built a couple of 1:12 bikes and have a stash awaiting attention but 1:35 and over 100 parts, I can imagine that must be very fiddly.
