discussion Does anyone remember this material ?

Around 1960 a new material came on the market which when softened could be shaped by hand,when you think about the scope then it is a wonder it never caught on,although I never used it myself it was a sheet of something that when cellulose thinners was applied it used to soften up and could be formed into any shape,as soon as the thinners evaporated then it went rigid again,I am surprised that someone has not produced a similar product for use in todays modelling world,just think of the possibilities ? you could make cowlings or any awkward fittings from it,does anyone remember it,or what it was called ?

Dont remember the cellulose activated one but there is one on the market now that only requires the heat of the hands to make moldable then hardens when cold. It can be softened again with hot water to be re-used. Dont recall the name but it should be in art shops or Tiranti`s catalogue.

Hello all, Polymorph I believe is the new product. Have no personal experience as yet but have heard that it is good to work with

i`ve used polymorph, needs warm-hot water to conjeal and can be moulded for about 5 mins afterwards, if required can be reheated and reshaped.

feels like nylon when solidified
