Anyone attending the East Of England Model Show in Peterborough this year? Not been for a couple of years and not been to the new venue.

Did prefer the Saturday when it was in the Town Hall, transport in Peterborough is not great on Sunday. However, the Voyager Academy should have decent parking.

Mmmm, could well be interested, good to see something a bit more local to Suffolk. Haven't been to Peterborough for a long time - am betting the Elephant & Castle has long gone?

No pennies I'm afraid Graham. Pity really 'cos it would have been nice to meet up again.

10 minute bike ride for me, and I cycle slowly  knackered knees..... :( :)

Bit to far for me, can anyone point me in the direction of a model show in the south east? Or is there a site I can find out about this sort of thing?

I've never been to a show and I guess there will be people competing ect but am I right in thinking you can pick up kits, reference material ect at these things?

This show is a bit of a schlep for me too Phil, but London & the South East aren't best served for shows.

There is a London one, but I missed that a few weeks back. There's another in Hornchurch Essex though I don't know when that one is... October or November maybe?

Is the Peterborough one decent enough for a bit of a mission then?

It is OK but it isn't that big compared to some. Must admit I prefer the ones a bit later in the year as I am always skint so close to Christmas. However, for me, this one is a great way of picking up bulk items like airbrush cleaner and thinners etc rather than kits. Trouble is, I always see something I know I cannot live without. In fact I have five big black bags of kits I 'couldn't live without' in the shed some of which I cannot see me ever building.

I've never been, actually I've never been to a model show before, but this one is closer than Telford or Cosford. Plus if a few people from here go, it'll be nice to say hello. And maybe help Graham with his bags of "must haves" ;)

Hi all, well its the show this weekend just wondered who can still pop along!

Cheers,Ben

Sadly I can't. Family coming up for Mother's Day and daughters birthday so I will be chained to the kitchen cooking Sunday dinner and birthday tea. It used to be so much better when it was in a Saturday.

Not a chance for me I'm afraid. First trip to the mainland this year will be 28th April when I pop up to the Bristol area to see my little bruv. The missus and I will then pop down to Dartmoor for a driving tour for a week then back on the boat.

Might get some time later in the year in the Luton area as I might have some refresher training on the DME and possibly the Hook/Basingstoke area for some ILS training.

If anyone knows of anything in that sort of area might be able to attend.

I would love to go but its Mothers Day and my wife would kill me, and shes not even my Mother :)

186 mile round trip for me so I'll have to be patient and wait another month for Cosford (within spitting distance :) )

But all those that go have fun and don't forget to post photos;)

No worries guys i shall grab some pictures and post on here by tuesday as ill have broadband then :)

Please do Ben. I post this as the show gets underway and I am in the kitchen preparing a huge leg of lamb for the oven. The hoards (family) will be defending upon us at 1:30 expecting dinner for 12 at 2:00 then a wash up, glass of wine, might be a G&T as well then prep tea when another three will arrive.

Would I rather be at the show?.................. mmmmmmmmm......
