an empty pot noodle container full of water for rinsing your brushes and a box of cocktail sticks, great for allsorts of things. most essential to me is a roll of kitchen roll for wiping up spillages and such like (which i get a lot of). latest casualty was a bottle of micro set earlier on. sick of knocking them over, oh must not forget my ipod in my ears so i dont have to listen to my kids fighting and arguing

A radio

Probably this week a good heater in the garage work area.

Q-tips/cotton buds and various grades of sandpaper as well. I also keep Bluetac handy for masking and for sticking small parts into for painting.

Most that I'd add have already been mentioned. I do use a vice and numerous clamps. Various CA glues and baking soda to make filler as well as various proprietary fillers. Two part putty (Milliput or similar). Various thicknesses of plastic card. Various wire. A micrometre that I use about once a year! Interdental brushes for airbrush cleaning. Meths, don't drink it,it's great for cleaning acrylic varnish (and most acrylic paints) from your airbrush. White spirits for enamels. Both are much cheaper than branded alternatives. A draw full of spare parts for my airbrushes. Copious amounts of kitchen roll.

Patience.

Did someone say cocktail sticks?

Cheers

Steve

A small container for putting small parts in. I've just started building tanks and the wheels tend to roll everywhere if not contained, and I don't think anyones mentioned your magnifier of choice.

Hi All what do you class as you essential modelling tools? here's some of mine.Vaughan
Very similar to yours. Add small snap shut plastic bags for putting bits in.

Has anyone mention the old fashioned wooden clothes pegs yet? The best modelling clamps ever invented!

If i can enlighten you LaurieThese are silicon/rubber "brushes" that clay modelers (and similar) use to shape the clay fo finer detail.

They also can be made from compressed paper as a disposable type.

Correctamundo Colin, I got mine in Lidl for some daft low price like 1 or 2 quid. soak in water and good for smoothing over milliput or squadron putty. good for pushing decals into details as they're flexible yet still solid
