Ah so Steve. You had the wobbly gear stick which had its own idea of which gear wanted. Where the synchro wore out. Where the bearings on the front wheels went clickety clack. You had a sore back after checking the battery in the boot after removing everything in the boot. Where the cords on the door lock broke. It worked a treat by removing the dead surface (as you mention) and didn't get anywhere near revealing the undercoat. I sold it to an eager young lad who obviously didn't know about the many faults of the Mini of which mine was a good example. No, I don't feel guilty. He didn't ask, despite having his father with him.
