discussion Finnish Armored Rail Car "Zepplin"

Figure I should post photos of my finished pieces again, been a while, so here is a rather unusual one I completed about a month ago, the Finnish armored rail car "Zepplin", in 1/72 from a small Ukrainian company called UMmt, mainly makes armored train. It was an interesting build, soft plastic, not the best molding, and all surface details from photo etch. Wish I had done the base color more brown, but ah well. Rather pleased with the dio base for it, it came with tracks, but they were rather poor, so I re-did them using coffee stirrers for ties and HO (OO in the uk I believe) rails.

Nice litle dio i think it could do with one less tree to see more of railcar .


I have built one of u m models complete trains they are a bit of a challange and i used o o tracks modified but when finished look good.


nice to see another railcar modeled, i think i am the only one on here building rail related armour.

Convincing snow and trees Norm, the camouflage works well.

I think this is just perfect, you show the finished product then put in the dio and it disappears in the undergrowth with trees and weather effects no aircraft spotter will be able to get that one.
