Probably not German with a swastika on the tail. Beautiful shot of a beautiful plane though.

It's a Flugwerk replica A-8 and that is not a 'real' werknummer. It's the first one they built, registered as D-FWWC it first flew in July 2004.

Paul Allen's recently restored A-5 is the only flying Fw190 with an original BMW engine.

Thanx for the info,I will pass it on.

Interesting that the fuse skinn is dented like that if it is a relative new replica.

I'm not sure how original that photo is either! It looks retouched to my untrained eye. Actually it almost looks like a skin from a flight sim!

It's real and the photo was taken by Gavin Conroy from here in NZ.

Wings Over New Zealand - New Website Updates, Anson, Fw 190 etc.

Wings Over New Zealand - Have you all been following the Omaka FW190 ?

For some reason the second link won't work, the gap between 1539 and the 1 won't close, so paste it into your browser for a look. Or search FW190 on that forum.

For a brief history of the aeroplane and it's restoration to NZ skies see this link: http://jemaviation.co.nz/Current-Projects/my-new-project/

Enjoy!

Then it's a great photo! Well done Gavin Conroy.

The aircraft, being the first Flugwerk kit was retained by them as a prototype and used for testing and development. It was eventually sold to a New Zealand owner in 2009. It had been canibalised by Flugwerk to provide parts for other kits and did not set off for New Zealand until January 2011. As you can see from the links from flyjoe180 and the link below it has since been flying down under.
