We have our granddaughter tonight all night for the first time, we have been given written instructions 4pages yes 4 pages was told she would not go down without a struggle(they think we've never had kids) we put her to bed at 730 as instructed in the written instructions (they allowed 25-50 mins for this activity) she was asleep by 745 not a peep out of her since just been up and checked and she's sleeping like an angel, thrown the rest of the instructions in the bin.

Know what you mean, our grandson is autistic and is difficult at home with his parents.

Comes to stay with us and we have no problems at all.

Back home & he kicks off again.

Nope good as gold even had to wake here up at 6 (as per instructions we were told don't worry she will have you awake by then) she is now happily playing on the rug with her toys.

Our youngest grandson who is 16 loves to come and stay with us on a night's stopover....Video Games are banned, his phone is confiscated. and he really loves it! We have a good chat.

Best of all, he says, is when we give him REAL CHIPS!....."Not those awful oven cooked things my mum gives me"

You can't beat grand kids, but for some reason, they become sods when back home!

We've got more than 15 years to get there by then there won't be mobiles it will all be thought controlled so there won't be a phone or anything to confiscate guess we will just have to have our house lead lined.

Coincidence Pauline and I were chatting about one grand son being a real real pain at home but is in God's light when with us.

On reading I used to have fun when out brood were young. The first two I would read to on the side of the bed just before they jumped into bed. All the usual books. Same stories and they would love to listen over and again to the same ones. So I injected little bits in of my own. Then I added a few more bigger ones until there was a sudden eruption "Dad that is not the real story you are making it up". Then we would all have a giggle as I would immediately restart with utter rubbish.
