Hi! I'm Cleng from the Philippines. I want to thank you guys for giving me inspirations seeing all your great works. I am into airsofting and am trying to immitate your techniques in weathering your models. Your suggestions will be much appreciated. If I may, here's my first try at weathering after reading tons of tips and techniques through your forums.

... I would love to learn more on how to properly weather fake wood and how to make plastics look weathered steel and lastly how to make battle scars for my airsoft guns. Thanks again and more power to this great Site.

regards

Cleng

Hi Cleng and a warm welcome to the forum. A couple of very nicely modelled items there and you are obviously well on your way to understanding the various techniques.

Start by having a look through our tutorials and "Hints and Tips" and see if you get any ideas. Unfortunately there are no hard and fast rules with weathering, it is a case of experiment and practise as much as possible. I have played around with a few differrent media and can't say i have any great preference. I enjoy them all.

Have a look at my U-Boat build thread and the pictures of my HMS Cossack for a couple of thoughts.
