Hi all,

From humble beginnings, my painting journey began! Firstly, Humbrol rattle cans & the least said of my attempts to do German camo with them!

Then a Badger single action airbrush followed, powered by many, many cans of propellant!

Then lo! The penny dropped & a compressor / double action airbrush set was purchased. And what a revelation it proved to be! Now I felt I had real control in my spraying & many enjoyable hours breathing in fumes followed .... cough!

But all was not well! Although I'd become a staunch advocate of cheap Chinese airbrushes, I found myself becoming more & more frustrated with them.

When you first use a cheapo AB, you wonder why other people sing the praises of their expensive Iwata/Badger/Paasche/H & S etc. Because straight from the box, they perform like a dream.

But as time goes on, so the performance of the CCAB declines - rather like one's sight failing, it's almost impossible to notice until drastic steps are taken.

And so, after that long & flowery opening (!) here is my long-term review of the Harder & Steenbeck Ultra 2 in 1.

I will be reporting back at irregular intervals, reporting on my findings on my new airbrush. That way a more realistic impression can be obtained, rather than perhaps raving about it during the first few uses.

There's plenty of reviews of this AB online, so I won't go into the nuts & bolts - although it is definitely better built than any airbrush I've used thus far.

My test bed for the review will be Revells' 1/72 Nashorn. I thought a braille scale armour subject would be a good test!

So hopefully tomorrow I'll have some photos to post up - just as soon as I've located my camera!

All the best
