Not much done today just undercarriage legs and wheels going to use the large paper drop tanks so I'll have to do a bit of research as for the plumbing also not sure how to clean up the join in them without destroying the detail on the nose and tails any thoughts

I have found Roger there is no real way of tidying up easily. Not sure if the lines are raised or recessed.

If they are recessed the task is much easier. Just sand down carefully as possible. I use wet and dry as

you do much less damage.

Then re.do the lines with a panel scriber line making tool. Tamiya I have found the best. I use Dremel tape as a guide.

What Cement are you using Roger ?

I'm useing tamiya thin green top

The lines are raised the real tanks are concave strips and I think most kit makes represent this by having raised lines

I use Tamiya and Mr Cement S. Tamiya gives a little time to position.

Mr Cement S virtually nil it goes off that fast and the one I use mostly.

I would have used it sparingly with the drop tanks so as not to squash out the plastic.

Find it easier to use filler for any work to be done. I use Mr Surfacer 500 which goes

off quickly. You can use IPA or Mr Surfacer thinners to smooth the filler. Find this

gives minimal sanding and destruction of detail.

Just a thought I have some very very small round plastic strip. Must experiment to

see if I can melt that into the plastic to restore the beading lines.

Progressing well Roger.

Today I fitted radiator and tailwheel leg then closed up fuselage also fitted mainwing and tailplane then filled a few seams underneath mainly

Then sprayed long range tanks as12 from a can then picked out the hanging straps with a silver marker pen but I'm a bit disappointed I thought it would be more chrome

Painted tyres with xf85 freehand

I like this kit a lot it's very well detailed the wing is better in my opinion than the tamiya one because it's more subtle no chunking great rivets all over that wonderful laminar wing

loving this build so far all the best girls and guys

Yeah but I suppose thats no bad thing. My biggest frustration is lack of time to model, by going to a club when I'm working at home and by putting builds on here it keeps me trying to sneak wee bits and pieces in. Although you wouldn't know it on here haha, took me and my daughter months to do her wee rally car and since the start of this year I've only finished one build of my own!

Yeah it was, I did the body paint with the AB and she did about half the decals with a bit of help, she painted the insides and exterior parts herself, she did a good job and I could see her improving all the time (that my patience was recovering!)

I bought her the twin pack with the red Mini but I won't push her so much this time, I will wait a bit and see if she wants to pick it up. When she does I will be letting her do a good bit more her self. We have a baby on the way very soon and I think that will take all her attention for a while!

Cheers
