Has anyone photos or drawings of the He 46 in the prewar 62/63/64/65 four colour scheme?

I have a drawing of S2 + A35 and a photo of DB + NX

bur would really like to see the upper surfaces?

Alternatively any plastic modellers web sites I could ask on?

I'd like to refresh this question.

Asking on the suggested websites I got a lot of info on the interior from a French mag (and all in French too! Thank goodness for babelfish)

The model is very close to maiden flight time (after many distractions) and paint is the final job.

I have read through Wadmans book but that doesn't help so I guess another major question is: Were they finished in the 62/63/64/65 scheme at all? Or did they go straight from the overall 02 to the dark green dark grey (71/74) colour schemes?

Also in the two illustrations I posted earlier the demarcation lines don't match up.

I may have to end up painting it in overall 02 but I would prefer the 4 colour scheme

This is very time dependent. In late 1936 the three tone scheme was applied to all 'front line' aircraft. After 1938 these aircraft should have been finished in a two green splinter scheme of RLM 70/71 over RLM 65 undersides. RLM 74 is a much later colour so you can ignore that!

Somewhere in this period a light grey colour,L40/52,which was not the same as RLM 02,may have been applied. It is a light grey without the green cast of 02. The RLM numbered paint shades were only standardised in the 1938 edition of L.DV.521/1. (L.Dv is Luftwaffe Dienstvorschriften,Air Force Service Regulations.)

The few images I have of He46s all seem to be in this grey colour. This,of course,doesn't mean that they all were!

The problem is that the Germans are no better than anyone else at keeping up with the changes in regulations. There are plenty of images of aircraft in the three tone scheme well into 1939 I have a photo of an Hs123 in the winter of 1940 still in a three tone scheme! By the time WW2 started the He46 was hardly a front line aircraft either.

As with many Luftwaffe topics there probably isn't a right answer to this.

I don't seem to have a good image of how the upper surfaces of the He46 were finished but I do have plans based on factory drawings of some other types. You could use these as a base for an He46 scheme if you decide to go for the rather attractive multi coloured scheme.
