I had a few hours at a local heli museum in weston super mare so many helicopters there but this one was i think the bestView attachment 118644

Hinds are an awesome aircraft all that fire power and still carrying a belly full of soldiers.


More deadly than the AH 64 in my opinion.

Hinds are a Pitbull of an attack helicopter. And I agree that with firepower alone, they're probably the most formidable helicopter ever.


The 64 has a bit of tech, agility and stealth style in its favour. Mind you, if you flew one of these into an Afghan terrorist camp and unleashed, I think it would do a VERY GOOD job!

Tell me more Peter. Did not know that there was a museum there. 3 weeks ago I was just below Bristol. If only I had known.


Went while in Bristol to see the S S Great Britain which is a great museum piece.

Its a small charity run museum not as well known as yeovilton they do have a web site just google helicopter museum weston super mare.


Its packed with every thing rotory wing posible including the remains of the first gyro ane from ww1,there is a small but packed gift shop with plenty of kits.


You take junction 21 of the M5 but it is sign posted i could go on but it would take me a long time

When i went i took my mum in a wheelchair its a bit tight in places but on the whole you have acess to every where

Yes guys I can vouch for the helicopter musuem at Weston as I live there and it's about a couple of miles up the road from me it's a great place to go and research colour schemes or a particular type you are modelling I spoke to the guy who flew the hind back from the Baltic to the the museum several years ago if my memory serves and he said before they were allowed to move it all the weapons had to be removed and the rocket pods etc cemented over the actual machine is impressive to say the least up close and personal and would probably eat an Apache for breakfast but I'm not going into mines better than yours argument if you can go see for yourselves I don't think you will be disapointed

I got up close to a Czech Air Force Hind at RIAT many years ago, they got a lot of vodka in it!
