As the title suggests, I am no stranger to this site (I was one of the Moderators quite a few years back) I am pleased to see the site still up and running and doing well.
Since my last post on here (about 2010 I think), I have retired (nearly 5 yrs ago now) so have time to devote to the hobby which ended up taking a back seat for so long and finally enjoying it.
I'm still doing RC Models, Scale Helicopters are now my thing, including every last rivet and bit of detailing. I still use a lot of techniques from my days of making plastic kits but also some techniques that would come in useful for making custom parts for plastic kits. (Vac-forming etc).
My latest project is 17 months into the build so far (including a couple of short breaks) but the light at the end of the tunnel is starting to show.
Imagine an Airfix 1/48th Lynx AH-7 kit but 38 times bigger... ie. 1/10th scale, but it is a very basic fuselage meaning you have to do all the detailing yourself....(including several hundred / thousand rivets). I am using the 1/48th kit as a reference as well as numerous photos of the real thing. I'll put a separate thread up very shortly.
