discussion HELP airies spit cocpit fit problems

MY first post. I didn't think I would have questions about fitting this cockpit into the airframe... but I am stimied. I have the Eduard 1/48 Spit Mk22/24 #1121 kit. It includes the Airies cockpit kit. I am just examining it to see how it works, my first time with one of these things. What do I do? cut the side out of the fuselage to insert this one, or do I live with two thicknesses of plastic on the sides. Looks kind of rediculous at the door with two layers. Last time I tried detailing was a 1/32 P-51B, and doing scratch build stuff, it seemed eseir than this is. While we are it it, how about Tamiya colours to use in the cocpit? Is there some kind of coulour chart available? Thanks for any help I can get. Cheers, Bill

Hi Bill, I don't know the particular combination you are dealing with but often fitting cockpit detail sets involves a bit of thinning of walls and filling rather than removing whole sides/panels. It's one of the few things I use a Dremel for!
