I have a superscale decal sheet that requires me to place one decal on top of the other to achieve the image on the model I desire. Each of the two decals has a different color. When one is layered on top of the other it represents this image correctly. I am questioning the proper techniques to pull this application off correctly.

My thought process is as follows:

1. airbrush a coat of future acrylic, let dry

2. apply a coat of Microset

3. apply the 1st waterslide decal, remove excess moisture let dry for 10 min.

4. apply a coat of Microsol, let dry overnight

5. apply a coat of Microset over the 1st decal (previously applied)

6. apply the 2nd waterslide decal and position it accordingly, remove excess moisture let dry for 10 min.

7. apply a final coat of Microset over the 2nd decal previously applied, let dry overnight

8. airbrush a coat of Testor's dullcoat over the decals to seal them in place.

I have never tried this before. Will my thought process work without creating a mess? Can anyone out there help me?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

I've done almost exactly that when applying the red dot in the centre of a roundel,or the little first aid crosses on Balkenkreuz. I didn't apply any microsol before both decals were on, but if you let everything dry, as in your proposed plan, I don't see why that should be a problem.
