hi new here I have been making model boat for about 3 years now I have a 6x8 shed have my boats tool mini lathe in it a just got a 25 lt compressor for airbrushing and to use in there would you put it outside or try and put in in my shed which way is best

Welcome to the forum Matt. There a great bunch here even if they are a little strange. If you need any help just ask, don't forget there are NO stupid questions ( but you may get some stupid answers ).

Myself I would try to put it inside the shed.

Hi Spike,

Airbrushing outside can be tough! There are all sorts of tiny bits floating in the air than can land on wet paint & mar the finish. Not to mention flies & bugs that are suicidally drawn to wet paint! Also even a light breeze can affect the paint flow from an airbrush.

Inside is much better, but do make sure you have adequate ventilation. Use a mask too, even with acrylics. They may be non-toxic, but there's still particulates in the overspray that you don't want to breathe in.

A handy tip is to spray water around before using the airbrush. This settles any dust in the atmosphere - and dust is a feature of most sheds! ;)

Hi there Matt, G'Day from down under! and looking forward to your builds mate.

Much quieter having the compressor outside and the supply through the wall so you spray in the comfort of your shed, and welcome to the forum.
