Hi all.

As I have posted here before I am busy with 1/48 airfix EE Lightning, The fuse went together ok'ish but the wings are warped and I thought that if I glue them straight they would be ok, but allas they are still slightly warped.

How do I fix tihs now, heat like steam maybe, or is this to hot?

Thanx

Hand hot water and something to clamp them straight, i.e. clamps, or a splint arrangement. heat them up until a bit more pliable than normal and then take them out and clamps on.

An alternative is a hairdryer but it can be too risky sometimes...

Hope this helps.

Thanx will give it a try.

Hand hot I assume is as hot as a hand could just stand?

Do I go just straight or do I go slightly past straight to counter the springback?

PS . so what are you going to build then? :-)

Yes as hot as you can stand without being in pain - you don't want the plastic to get so soft that the clamps dig into it. I would go slightly past straight, if it's not enough you can always redo it, but if you go too far, you'll maybe distort further bending it back

Good luck and let us know the outcome

The winner is - the Hellcat, sorry Theuns, you'll have to wait for the Sabre!:tongueout1:

No worries!

Thanx I got the wings relativly straight by hot water and bending them and holding by hand. Not a big deal as I thought it would be.
