I hope it's ok posting this, but so far I've seen other people having trouble fitting the air intakes on these kits without ending up with big gap to the fuselage.
I've discovered where the problem lies. It's this section here at the front of the wing

With some careful sanding, the gap can be reduced to almost nothing

Some extra thin cement & pressure will join that nicely I think.
