discussion Is there a problem spraying Vallejo clear ?

Hello folks...my first bit of input..duh duh duh duuuuhhhh!I use Vallejo Model air varnishes, Matt, Satin and Gloss. They all spray on brilliantly, especially the Satin and Matt, but I have found that you need to apply the thinners through the ol' airbrush.

Say three of four drops , well mixed and they seem to flow a little slicker.

They do take a while to cure properly, and I usually leave a gloss varnish about a week until I polish it up.

Best to input you Christian name. Makes it mor friendly as most go by this.

For Vallejo varnishes I use a .4 needle nozzle. With this combination I do no need to thin at all. If you thin gloss it will be less gloss. Not up with polishing varnish. But it maybe that a lacquer varnish may be better for your use.

I agree. I use a .4 needle but do tend to thin it about 10% as I like to apply it in thin coats. The gloss does tend to be a bit thick and gloopy so I have switched to Humbrol Clear for glossing which is excellent, while I still use the Vallejo Matt (the Premium one).

well guys thank you all for your in-put, is great to get the help,

the biggest i have is a .3,

but have not gone down that road let to try and work out how the sizing work,

You are not lost on a .3 needle nozzle combo. Moni.

Just have to thin, as Barry mentioned, and see how it goes. Thinning just means you will have to apply more coats.

ta Laurie, when i have some time i will have a bit of a fiddly about and remember that,

maybe i should look at get a better type of AB one that can take a bigger needle, as the

higher the number the bigger the spray ,and less likely to get clogged
