Firstly thanks to Lee for organising this GB.

My build will be the 1/72 scale UM kit

What’s a great subject and choice of kit ….How very cool Jim:cool:

Built a few UM kits and found them pretty reasonable. As always I have every faith you’ll raise to challenge 👍

Made a start. The main body is 5 parts which fit perfectly. I glued a styrene rectangle into the bottom to give more strength to mount up the model onto a 'handle'.

Built up the bogies. Again just a bit of clean up. 7 tiny parts in each and a PE part still to add.

Thanks guys.

Added the PE to the bogies and fitted them onto the body. Apart from some of the location holes having to be slightly enlarged the fit is spot on so far.

I have decided I hate link and length tracks!! Especially in 1/72 and with no "click" together. Done now though.

Built up the turret. Lifting hooks replaced with wire.

Started on the rockets and their launcher.

Looks like a real pain those tracks, glad you made it work, looking good Jim 👍

Tracks and wheels all glued in place ....

.... and a coat of MRP black primer.

These tracks are similar to the Revell 1/72 link and length…a bit of a challenge!
it looks like you’ve successfully got them on 👍

At last a bit of an update. Well actually quite a lot :D
Rear plate fitted. Resulted in an odd step - I don't think it was an error from me. Easily filled anyway.

Prepared all the rockets. The instructions said that each rocket had to have a flat sanded top and bottom - strange. They wouldn't fit otherwise and it made an area for glue.

Lower rack fitted into launcher.
P1070814.jpg
All the other parts of the launcher.

Along the sides of the launcher are two springs. As always with springs there was a horrible mould line so they were replaced with pieces cut from acupuncture needles.

The hull parts joined and all the odds and sods fitted and then MRP black primer. Some Tamiya OD was airbrushed around the wheels.

Thanks for looking in ;)
