Hi everybody, its a bit left-field this one.

In this months "Classic Rock" magazine, page 96, there is a picture of Lemmy (frontman of Motorhead) commanding a fighting vehicle of some sort. Can any of you guys inform me what it is ?

I know its a long shot because some of you will not have access to the magazine, but if you don't ask, you will never know

Thanks

If you can post a pic of the pic that would help.

Don't know about other members but Classic Rock is not a mag I get and i'm not likely to spot it on the local shop shelves here.

Regardless of what it is, the fact that Lemmy is driving it makes it infinitely cooler :)

Make a nice Dio, with an ace of spades decal or two.

Hi m1ks, yes it would be easier to post a pic, but it is copyright material.

Description: A squared off tortoise/turtle body ( vehicle, not Lemmy ), no turret with sides that slope at 45deg ish, gun barrel off to one side and it has tracks.

Lemmy is dressed in a German military uniform.

As for the coolness factor, my jury is still out. The man is a living legend but if this vehicle is/was a lame duck, then his PR people need a word with themselves.

Thanks and erm................Rock on!

Sounds like a Sturmgeshutz (Stug).

The Germans built these as a turretless tank for use in the anti-tank and mobile artillery role.

Thee are many different models (and many more knowledgeable people than me out there) so a picture would help.

You could also browse the web looking for Stug or Sturmgeschutz. That will at least give you a chance to find out if you're looking for the right thing!

Thanks PJP I did a quick search with your recommendations, but no luck.

Then I just used " turretless tank ww2" and this came up. Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer, which is near identicle to the one in the pic.

Were they any good ?

Has Lemmys coolness factor been damaged by association ?
