discussion Looking for a book

about ten years ago I was reading a book but it got lost in a move , I only read a couple of chapters before we moved and sadly it got left behind


The book is similar to fartherland the parallel universe story of the Germans winning WWII, this however is about us helping the yanks out in WWII and they became a third rate power throughout the world and U.S. Brits are sending them money and helping them through the hard times it's a sort of how would the yanks have faired if they lost an empire


I can't remember the title and it was very good


So if this jogs any memories or you could direct me to a site that specialises in these questions then I'll be very grateful

It isn't one of the Harry Turtledove books? He writes a lot of " what if? " stuff & this rings a faint bell ...

I can't remember the author Patrick or the name of the book but I'll google his name I'm sure I'll remember it as soon as I see it

If you like that kinda thing, look for Weapons of Choice - I can't remember the authors name, but that's the 1st book in a series of 3 about a modern day naval group who go back to 1942.


Unlike The Final Countdown, they're stuck there & have to adapt to the different time. Also, some of the ships & equipment fall into Hitler & Stalin's hands ....
