Hi,

As the title says, I'm on the lookout for a display box which would fit a 1/48 Spitfire. Don't want to spend a fortune as its for a model I'm making for my wife's friend at work for a surprise.

I've had a search around the web but cannot seem to find anything suitable or in stock. Trumpeter do just the thing with it being @ 300mm square but no stock anywhere.

Anyone have any recommendations or something suitable?

Atb,

Colin.

It might be worthwhile looking for clear plastic storage containers. I've had a quick look and there seem to be lots about but I didn't find any in the size you wanted.

Have you thought of making your own useing clear polycarbonate/acetate or perspex sheeting!!

How about an upturned cheap fish tank on a wooden plinth?

Or as Gregg says make one ... I'd use the front perspex off of those cheap clipframes, the smaller ones are glass but when you go over 14ins x 20ins (I think) theyre thin perspex.

Thanks chaps, a few good ideas to try out. Hadn't thought about storage boxes or fish tanks :)

There's lots of model company options available for cars and trucks but nothing suitable for 1/48 aircraft, well not in stock anyway.

You could look at these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sunnex-30cm-Cake-Plate-Cover/dp/B0039Z789Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1372021838&sr=1-4&keywords=plastic+cake+domes
