discussion Looking to purchase my first airbrush any suggestions?

I recently purchased a Master Airbrush (used) on ebay. It constantly blows air the trigger gets stuck and just shoots paint without me even holding down the triggers. Needless to say the Chinese made POS was a lemon. I want to purchase my own air brush that's a name brand. I saw on youtube some one using the Aztke A4307 and it looks very simple and user friendly.

But i've also heard Paasche VL is one of "the" air brushes to have. What is a good air brush around $150.00 (U.S) or less, that Can do anything i require for model painting. Sorry for the vague question, just with a market flooded with air brush makers (and some shitty Chinese ones) and varius models, its hard to pick an airbrush. Even a top 5 list would help out and I could do my own research from there. Thank you.

one thing that ,I know is with a AB that has the mixing screw at the bottom of the cup, dont get ones as with my cheap asia one had

all types of problems with it,

there is some good and not over costly iwata AB on evilbay and im sure that alot of the lads will know some to suggest to you

Get an Iwata neo. These airbrushes are great and I use them myself. I trust that if you will get one of these you find it as good as I did. It has 6 years warranty and it is backed by Iwata, so you really can't go wrong. Do not go after the Aztecs as these can be quite dodgy. The Iwata neo is around $75 Australian dollars on ebay. Do not let the price tag scare you off, as the airbrush works like a H&S ultra which is at 2x the price.

I use an iwata tr2 and I highly recommend it works 1st time every time and I am also sure other brands/models are available that work equally as well as mine but just letting you know what works for me. Not sure of the price in US dollars but good luck with your search cheers John

I'm new to airbrushing and recently purchased an iwata HP-CS. This dual action airbrush has changed the way I paint models!

I tried a master double action airbrush and it was a pos, I have been using a Badger 200 detail for several years now and it has never let me down and I have a Pasche Talon dual action another excellent brush, I would suggest you buy a known make as it will be a good investment, I have always used TCP Global and found their prices reasonable.

Master Airbrush compressor works fine, it does what it needs to. But I think getting one of their brushes is a big no no. Not very great.

From the eastern side of the world, I had 2 Sparmax (Taiwan) and 1 Iwata (Japan) AB. Both the Sparmax 0.2mm and 0.3mm served me well, for over 6 years. But it seems to have trouble using Vallejo Air paint. The Sparmax 0.2mm was retired recently, and it is kept inside the display cabinet . The 0.3mm is still up n running.

The Iwata I have is a 0.2mm, and it performs superbly, used mostly for freehand camouflage painting. Have not tried using it with Vallejo Air paint though.

I had a Made In China AB 0.3mm ("No O-Ring") back in 2005 , and it got busted within a year, I guess the material used was really cheap. It was very light and I can't get a good grip. Like the Trumpeter kit, cheap imitation AB from Mainland China, are improving, but still not up to expectation. I got myself another Made In China AB 0.3mm 5 months ago (with O-Ring) this time, it feels more solid this time around. Lets see how far can it go
