Does anyone know a way of making mud in a way that doesnt involve too much cost?

also if possible how can u make mud look wet?

thank you!!!!!!!

Use mud from your garden and mix with pva glue. Makes it look wet. Nothing like using natural resources around you rather than buying them. It's like making your own rust pigment...really really easy and costs about 10p to do

Clean soil, plaster, water, PVA and any poster / acrylic paint needed to colour it the way you wanted. That's what I used for the base for my Italeri Pak 38.

You might try a coat of Klear on top of whatever you use. That should give it a bit of shine to represent wetness. I bought a 200 gm bag of white plaster from my local pound shop (Just to save young Graham wondering - again - it cost £1.00!) which could be mixed with a brushful of brown paint. You could also mix in a bit of PVA to make it stronger.

Ooooh, go one then, how do you make your own rust pigment?

Does it involve scrapings off the car, or your neighbours? :)

Thats how I make rust off the bottom of the cars, then into a pestel and powder it up then pastels to mix the colour up a bit, on the idea of mud I use real dirt mixed with a touch of pastel dust and poly filler, if a wet look is needed I use Klear to mix it, then gloss varnish it up a touch or if its a dry mud I mix with matt varnish diluted down.

I use a brillo pad and water to make mine. I also have some metal bar laying around that's rusting quite nicely so i might take some rust off those too
