On our recent trip to Armenia we stopped off in Sanahin - a small village famous for its monastery (I think they all are!). But it's also the birthplace of the Mikoyan brothers. Anastas was a leading foreign office minister under Stalin and Kruschev, while Artem teamed up with a chap called Gurevich and founded MiG. There's a museum with a MiG (of some sort - I'm useless on aircraft after WW2) outside. We couldn't go in as there was trekking to be done, but I took these snaps of the aircraft and a statue of Artem. The Armenians are, of course, very proud of them both.
