It looks like a great quality model, I've never built a miniart or mirror models kit (are they connected in their source of mouldings? Their dozers look identical). But I do love the idea of non military equipment and soft-skins, which both companies seem to do very well. Those Mirror Models sprues gates terrify me though, especially the steering wheel - am betting many folks have messed that up!

Never seen a Mirror model kit John. I don't think MiniArt are part of anyone else but couldn't be certain. Some MiniArt kits have very brittle plastic but this one has been fine.

Thanks for the comments guys, this one is important as it will be the first fully finished model for a long time. Not expecting it to be great but it has to be finished before I start the next one or it will never get finished.

Will you have it built to allow for lifting off of certain areas to expose interior details?

There is vision through the large turret hatch and the two front hatches. I suppose if I hadn't seen the build by a guy on Armorama under the name of AlanL then I might have left it open but when you see what he did to one here

Then you can see how lacking it really is. I could have copied his ideas and gone that bit further but, like I said, I want this one out of the way a soon as I can as I have three projects snapping at my heals :)

I do think the kit is worth the effort to do what he did if the subject interests you enough. It certainly is a good kit to use as a base for more internal detail.

Great work on this just caught up done a crackig job and love the colour of this classic tank

I actually don't mind once I get started, it took an hour and a half but it has taken two weeks to actually get myself to do them!

They are a bit therapeutic :P

Could have been worse Graham, you could have watched 3/4 of "Red Tails" - now that would have been a waste! ;)
