Hi Guys,

finally got round to finishing this little beast...which would probably look more at home in a Warhammer 40K setting than Normandy 1944

Paints are a mixture of MIG and Valejo - base layer in the closest I had to French army green, some chipping fluid and then the yellow/green/brown as applied
by private Schultz in a hurry.

The tracks were a pain as I left them until after I'd painted the hull so I'm not proud of them - when it gets a base it might have to be hiding in the long grass...

Don't believe I've ever seen one of these.
Where were they used and how were they deployed?

Rick, they were captured French Renault UE 2 carriers repurposed. The Germans were pretty inventive about adding artillery pieces to thinly armoured captured vehicles. The name translates to "Walking Stuka". They seem to have been used mainly against large fixed targets as they weren't particularly accurate.

Meant to say that the launchers were more commonly seen on the SdKfz 251 half-track

Thanks Mark, I have been aware of the 251 version for years
, but that little buggy with those massive rockets on it was a
new twist I hadn't seen before. Rick H.
