A couple of years ago, around the time of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, I felt the urge to build a D-Day scene in remembrance of my father, who was there at the time. With much enthusiasm I bought Airfix's "Operation Overlord" kit which I thought would do nicely, however, on opening the box and looking at what was involved I was overwhelmed. I didn't want to give up nor did I want to spoil the model through lack of knowledge and experience, so I purchased Airfix's "Battlefront" by way of giving me something to cut my teeth on. It was a huge learning curve but a most enjoyable experience. These photo's are the result and I'm always happy to receive constructive criticism and suggestions I can take forward to my next model.

Wow, nowt wrong with that mate, especially if it was your first attempt!
Love all the debris and weathering, and the posing of the figures and vehicles is good too, nice one. 8-)

Thank you all very much. At the time I did this I was unaware of weathering products on the market so used acrylic washes daubing them here and there according to what I felt looked right. Neither was I aware of the massive range of scenery accessories available, so I made all the debris by crushing stone and brick found in my garden. I had more fun with those aspects of the build than I the plastic kit itself.
