discussion new sub ?

Well guys as I asked for the sub section I better put something on it !!.

I have got wind ( not literally I hasten to add ) that Lindberg are about to launch an I, 90 WW2 japanese sub in 1/72 scale I believe , these subs were huge and I believe this model will be about 4 ft long, very much like the Revell Gato, and ripe for conversion ..Has any one else heard the news ??

I saw a picture of it somewhere on the tinter web but im blowed if I can find the blasted thing now !!

They are releasing 2 subs in 1/72, IJN C-1 class I-20 and IJN C-3 class I-53. Release is slated for Q2 2008 but nothing seems to be confirmed.

Looks like the subs are finally due to be released in the coming few weeks.

Does anyone have any decent reference material, ie plans & photos, on either boat? I see that several aftermarket kits will be forthcoming for both added detail & RC conversion, but I'm interested in the possibility of kit bashing the C1 into a B1 Type.
