Hi all, finally finished this one off. It's in 1/72 scale, and uses Revell troops and a Sherman. I've used various bushes I had lying around for the foliage, and hanging basket liner for the grass. The base is about A4 sized, using a photo frame as a base.

For the most part it was an easy build. I couldn't get the Sherman looking how I would have liked, though, and changing the poses of the dead troops was hard to say the least. I think they ended up okay though. See what you think ;)

Nearing the end of the war, a squad of American GIs find themselves guarding a desolate road somewhere in Western Germany. With the enemy in retreat all across the country, the occupants aren't expecting trouble.

One night, while a few of the men are patrolling the local area, one of the soldiers still at the checkpoint spots an armoured vehicle coming up the road. Initially panicked, they prepare to fall back, unable to take on the tank alone, but as it draws closer, their Sergeant stops them. In the darkness, there is no mistaking the distinctive shape of the incoming vehicle, rolling slowly towards them. Stepping into the road, he raises an arm of greeting up into the air, before yelling back to his men.

"Relax." he tells his men. "It's a Sherman. One of ours..."

Nice diorama Gregg, and a good story to go with it.

Plenty to look at, you have certainly filled up the available space!

I particularily like the road and foliage, very effective.

Well done.

Well what can i say Greg ?. Theres been some thought put into this diorama and it tells a good story' you can realy see how these mistakes could be made. A great little diorama a job well done

Real nice there's lots going on and some nice detail and at this scale it's not the easiest of things to do but you cracked it..

Geegad

It looks good Greg and a bit blood thirsty:)

I'm always impressed with small scale models and dioramas. Those small figures are a right old fiddle but yours are very nice.

Cheers

Steve
