Just quick bit of info please, can you use pva glue to temporarily fix a canopy in place? I think I read it somewhere but can't find the link again.

Are there any problems associated with this ? Or any tips

You can use PVA glue to permanently fix clear parts in place too.

i nearly always use it to attach glass since it dries clear, just got to remember its a bit more fragile, but then its not as if a kits going to be repeatedly handled once its built

Another type for temporary fixing is Micro Liquitape. Removed if it has dried with paint thinner.

For permanent I have tried many or is it all. Best I have come across so far is Humbrol Clear Fix. It has a grab feature ie stays in position after being held for a minute or so. Very thick does not dribble and is easy to apply with a brush or cocktail stick.. Dries clear. While wet wipe with a damp cloth. 24hrs for full strength but I have found it is very firm after about 6 hours.

Also can be used to produce small windows.

My glue of choice for clear parts has been Gator's Grip for the last few years, but I understand it is no longer being made. I've used Humbro's Clearfix like Laurie and it will probably become my fall back.

Like Steve I use Gator Grip. Didn't know it had been discontinued though. I have some Humbrol Clearfix so will use that once my Gator Grip is used up

I'm sure that I read about it recently. It still seems to be available on a couple of websites.

Top tip! Give the stuff a stir once in a while as it does tend to separate over time and you can add a few drops of water to loosen it up as well..

My PVA has always been a bottle of wood glue. I've always got one or two kicking around and find the fine nozzle very useful. For things like canopies though I would apply it with a fine brush around the edge to produce a nice bead that will squeeze out when the parts are mated. This can then be wiped clean with a damp cloth to give a very effective and neat joint.

Read some where recently that some one had take on Gator's.

Hmm, no mention of Gator Grip Glue being out of production on their webiste http://www.gatorsmask.com/gatorglueorder1.html

Love this picture:

Found this comment on a Youtube review of the glue:

Thank you for your great review of my glue. I shut down production for 3 months last year because of my son's health but I started back up and haven't looked back. One thing of note, my glue is not a PVA glue but a proprietary blend that I mix in my kitchen sink.

Maybe I got confused by that. It wouldn't be the first time, confusion I mean :)
