This one very nearly didn't make it to the finished stage as it was such a horrid kit to build,it had more flash than gordon gaps the size of the grand canyon and terrible fits.

But i persisted and had to use a pile driver to beat it in to submission and its come out a half decent kit any way i hope you like it and comments are welcome.

Nice spitfire, I build the kit in 1973, at the time it cost £3, hopefully Airfix have updated it since then.

Nice job, it looks very good to me. I don't think that kit has been updated in any meaningful way since it was first released, which will explain all the difficulties which you have successfully overcome.

Cheers

Steve

I'm sure you are right Steve. I'm sure the updates are nothing more than additional sprues and different transfers and markings. The basic main plastic bits are the same pieces we were putting together nearly forty years ago!

Great job on it Peter, good to see this kit still being built and people still making the most of it. You've done it credit and made a great model out of it.

Great job Peter, I'm just terrified about the quality comments I've got one of these to do !

If it looks a fraction of yours detail wise I'll be over the moon

It looks great to me you would never know it was a bad kit quality build

Great build Peter, this is a triumph for sure. You have done a very good job on that old kit.

Nice large scale spit mate. I was thinking of looking for this kit at the coming up model expo here in Australia. Thanks for the warning about the fit problems... Now I will be getting other kits instead of this.

Thanks every one,but i still prefer my 1/24 hurricane as its more detailed and goes together better.
