Update number one!

I've made a start, as this it the first Academy kit for me I was most impressed as there was no flash anywhere and the parts fit is very good

I'm happy with my choice lol (bit late now to send it back) lol

Time for a few photo's

As above there is a nice bit of detail shame it won't be seen when all done and sat on it's boots.

Had to use a bit of Mr Surfacer just to get it all straight and right

More to come later

David

Thanks Polux

Upping the anti on this as it could either work out to an interesting finish with the doors open and showing off the interior or it could end up a complete nightmare.

I've ordered two packs of Eduard PE for the interior and doors.

I'll have a swearbox handy me thinks as I've seen the destrutions and there are lots of small bits might be good idea to have a bottle of JD handy to lol

If the PE goes to plan and works out I might go for an open bonnet(hood) and get the resin engine detail kit, but lets get the PE out of the way first...

Nice start David its looking just like the Italeri kit i'm doing at the moment, I will watch this to see the difference's in the kits

Hi David!

This week I will have my Hummer, finally! I'm nervous because I don't know if is a good model.

Explain... I'm happy because you said are looking for Eduard PE to build a better model. I'm waiting for the Bronco model, and the price is more expensive than the others... That's means it has PE and interiors? If not I will buy the Eduard PE too...

I will have one eye on your model, with your permission! ;)

Thanks

Polux

Polux

You're more than welcome to keep an eye on my build, I hope to have my PE sets for the weekend.

As for the Academy kit the build so far has gone very well, as for the Bronco kit sorry no ideas about that one.

Update number three

Hello

sorry for the delay as I had a night out and have been waiting for the postman to deliver the packs of PE. Oh my there's quite a lot of it so it'll keep me quiet for a bit either that or the swear box will get rich quick lol

View attachment 56198

The first section on page one now completed.

View attachment 56199 View attachment 56200

Underside primed.

On the top side loads of ejector pin marks so went at them with the green filler, then removed the pedals as there are some PE pedals that I'll be using instead.

View attachment 56201 View attachment 56202

This was fidly so very fine and very thin PE so took me time and worked slowly.

View attachment 56203

Oh for some simple stick on one pic but had to do two seat backs.

View attachment 56204 View attachment 56205 View attachment 56206 View attachment 56207

Some more of the underside with a few more parts put in place.

more to come later

Regards

David

Coming together nicely David. ... expert use of the green stuff too :)

It's a perfect work David.

The PE looks very difficult mate, but are coming great so far!

Cheers

Polux

Great job David, I don't build armour, not yet anyway, but I know Academy make some great aircraft kits, you get a lot of plastic for your money. M

Update number four (Photo Etch)

A lot of little parts lots of bending but me thinks it's looking ok so far. I still have some more etch to go on but the Kystal Klear is still drying so leaving them alone until tomorrow lol.

Here are some photo's

All small and very fiddly altough the carpet monster has claimed just one small part where it went I have no idea.

View attachment 56335 View attachment 56336 View attachment 56337 View attachment 56338 View attachment 56339

The PE that's on the bottom of the seats was only being held by the superglue I'd bought some plastic right angle strip to use for something else thought it would be a good idea to use some to strengthen the join between PE part and seat.

View attachment 56340View attachment 56341

The edges are a little on the right angle strip but it's not going to be seen once it's in place.

That's all for this update more to come later.

Regards

David
