Thing is still 40% of CGI looks crap. He looks awesome, have seen a few at the comic-cons I do and the costume is just outstanding-way better than the fat-tomato that I go as as.

I love the old star wars sets, props and creatures. The new cgi hyper real stiff looks terrible.

At least as time moves on we will get more realistic lighting etc... But we need less cgi

There is a trend in the film industry to take a lean more into traditional film making-large sets, costumes, creatures etc. Of course CG has a place in in films, somethings do look good and it adds a depth to certain films that you just cannot create with props. But I agree CGI can be abused and overdone and it doesn't give the best results...'THE' other Star Wars films...and George's meddling in the originals is testimony to that.

Si:)

Cgi should only be used in TV full stop , the new films will have sets and static props of ships but all the action will be cgi , this just looks so fake you will never beat an honest to god model of a ship

I have the theatrical releases of the Star Wars original trilogy and I watch them I don't bother with the others they just look like cartoons especially the prequels

Rant over so who's donating :D

Love the old painted backgrounds, the artists were so talented, I appreciate the talent involved in cgi and I see exactly why films like the new star wars and avatar waited on tech but look at blade runner etc... Wow, more atmosphere than new star wars and I do like the star wars, I'm not a hipster hater haha

I think there is a place for CGI, take Jurassic Park and Avatar for instance, but one of my fav films is 2001 Space Odyssey, no CGI there, just good old fashioned props and sets. I'll donate a CGI £10
