Hello all:

As promised I have a few pics of our latest addition and my completed project. Well, almost-the display stand still needs a bit of work. It is the U-99 from Revell and was my first attempt at full blown weathering. We are lacking some sleep but this is due in part to my Mother in law visiting and not really living up to promise of "helping us out" while my wife recovers! Anyway, I'm finishing up the little Testors nuiport 17 1/72 plane and should be completed soon. I can't wait to put it in the nursrey! Take care, Jeff :grinball2:

You guys are too much~! Thanks-he was 21 1/2 inch long (sorry, I'm not that good with metric) so he's coming along! Actually John, the Revell kit idea would be pretty cool especially for teens who think they really want a baby!

Js,

Don't worry about the metric, the EU has finally seen sense in this matter in respect of getting the U.K. to change...they have now scrapped the idea so us oldies in the UK used to working in feet, inches, ounces and pounds are safe to carry on. The simplest reason for that was the Biggest country in the world still uses those measurements and will not change for anyone...Yes the good Old U.S.

I grew up with feet and inches and thats all I know - I can give you damn good measurements from eyesight with those alone....forget millimetres, centimetres, metres etc coz I haven't got a clue.

Nice to see common sense has prevailed although the younger generation are getting a bit of a shock now.

Regards.....Mark.

I agree Mark, I am just a young thing of 24, but my Dad taught me feet and inches, my school taught me millimetres and centimetres.....my Dad won!!!

It's a great system in the UK, We still have a mix of Imperial and Metric. Speed limits are in Imperial, we buy produce in pounds, distances on road sings are in miles. At primary school we teach kids in centimetres and then in secondary schools we use a mix of centimetres and milimetres, and still a lot of kids come into school using inches because their dad's learnt that way from their own dads!

It's very confusing!

we do mix metric and imperial dont we, look at car tyres for example.....

195x 65 R 15 !

195mm x 65mm x 15 inches !
